On the morning of September 21, 2025, CUFE Business School successfully held the 2nd session of the "CHO Future - Growth Formula for HR Alumni" activity in Classroom 406 of the Main Teaching Building. Focusing on career development paths and practical applications in the human resources (HR) field, this activity invited three outstanding alumni to share their practical experience and industry insights. Undergraduate students of HR Management major (Class of 2022) and students from other grades participated actively. Teachers from the Department of Organizational and Human Resource Management, including Zhang Hongyu, Liu Wei, and Ji Xiaode, attended the activity, creating a lively on-site communication atmosphere with remarkable interaction results.

At the beginning of the activity, Associate Professor Zhang Hongyu, Director of the Department of Organizational and Human Resource Management, elaborated on the background and core objectives of the activity. As a core function supporting the strategic development of enterprises, the in-depth integration of HR management's theoretical system and practical application is a key link in connecting higher education talent cultivation with industry development needs. This activity aimed to leverage the resources of outstanding alumni to build a bridge between campus theoretical learning and workplace practical application, helping students clarify the career development context of HR and providing guidance for their future career planning and ability improvement.

Li Min: "People-Oriented, Enabling Others to Achieve Greatness"
Li Min, an undergraduate alumna of the HR Management major (Class of 2002), took the lead in sharing with the theme of "People-Oriented, Enabling Others to Achieve Greatness". With 7 years of working experience in the HR department of a central state-owned financial enterprise and 13 years of experience in a municipal-level organizational department of Beijing, she has rich cross-field HR practical experience. Starting from her own career origin, she emphasized the professional attitude of "being rigorous and pragmatic, and focusing on details". Combining her work experience in the central enterprise and the Organization Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee, Alumna Li Min put forward the view that "major is not the only constraint for career development; people-oriented thinking habits and continuous learning ability are more critical". She pointed out that the core value of HR work lies in "paying attention to individual needs, supporting talent growth, and promoting organizational development", and encouraged students to establish the professional philosophy of "enabling others to achieve greatness", integrating personal development into organizational progress and social value creation.
Hou Yifan: "The Path of HR Keeps Widening"
Hou Yifan, an undergraduate alumna of the HR Management major (Class of 2014) and a postgraduate alumna of the same major (Class of 2018), shared his practical experience in HR work in the banking system under the title of "The Path of HR Keeps Widening". He emphasized the unique advantages of HR positions as a career starting point and how to achieve common growth of individuals and organizations in the financial industry with strict supervision and high requirements. Alumna Hou Yifan shared the comprehensive ability improvement brought by HR work and put forward three core suggestions for students' career planning: first, consolidate professional foundations and master HR management theories and tools; second, broaden practical horizons and step out of the campus more often; third, pay attention to macro trends and cultivate political sensitivity and social insight. In addition, he also recommended books related to career development to help students deepen their professional cognition and improve their thinking pattern.
Zhang Mufan: "Why I Chose HR"
Finally, Zhang Mufan, an undergraduate alumna of the HR Management major (Class of 2019), focused on the theme of "Why I Chose HR" and provided valuable suggestions on campus planning and job hunting from the aspects of major selection, job-hunting mindset, and career positioning. She encouraged everyone to "stay relaxed but not slack off" and make sound long-term career plans. Combining her own experience, she offered practical job-hunting advice to the students: first, clarify career positioning, focus on target industries and positions, and formulate targeted job-hunting strategies; second, objectively analyze strengths and weaknesses, make up for shortcomings through systematic learning and practice, and strengthen competitive advantages; third, accurately grasp industry needs, understand the employment preferences of different types of enterprises, and make early preparations for capabilities; fourth, pay attention to job-hunting details, closely track recruitment information, make good time planning and document preparation, and avoid affecting the job-hunting process due to omissions.
After the sharing session, the activity entered the interactive Q&A session. Students actively raised questions such as "How can freshmen start HR career planning?" and "What core capabilities do HR majors need to possess when switching to business positions?". The three alumni gave specific and operational answers one by one based on their own career experiences and industry cognition.
The successful holding of the 2nd session of the "CHO Future - Growth Formula for HR Alumni" activity is an important measure for CUFE Business School to deepen the integration of industry and education and innovate the talent cultivation model of the HR management major. From three different career stages - senior practitioners, middle-aged backbones, and workplace newcomers - the three alumni shared HR practical experience and growth wisdom, effectively breaking the barrier between classroom theoretical knowledge and workplace practical application, and building a high-quality platform for students to communicate with front-line industry professionals.
