On the afternoon of September 10, 2025, CUFE Business School held a Teachers' Day learning activity with the theme of "Inheriting the Fine Tradition of Morality Education and Cultivating Talents, Becoming 'Four-Having' Good Teachers in the New Era" at A28 of the MBA Education Center. The activity aimed to inspire all faculty and staff to stay true to their original aspiration, keep their mission in mind, and strive to become "Four-Having" good teachers in the new era by learning from the outstanding deeds of Professor Wang Jinying, the recipient of the first "Longma Award" of Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE). All faculty and staff of the school participated in the learning activity, which was hosted by Gu Leilei, Vice Dean of CUFE Business School.
Vice Dean Gu Leilei introduced Professor Wang's outstanding deeds: Professor Wang Jinying is a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor of Central Institute of Finance and Banking (now Central University of Finance and Economics), a famous expert in marketing and foreign economic management in China, a finance and economics educator, and a pioneer in the localization of marketing. Many of her works have been rated as excellent textbooks, filling the gap in marketing textbooks in Chinese universities and establishing the domestic marketing curriculum system. With the responsibility of a teacher as "a ladder for others, a bridge for others, and a road for others", she has illuminated the growth path of countless students.
Subsequently, all faculty and staff of the school carefully watched the oral history video of Professor Wang Jinying. After collectively learning about Professor Wang Jinying's deeds, Professor Sun Guohui from the Department of Marketing, Professor Gao Yongling from the Department of Supply Chain and Operations Management, and Assistant Professor Liu Zixu from the Department of Strategy shared their experiences and insights in turn.
Professor Sun Guohui, who is both a doctoral student and a colleague of Professor Wang Jinying, affectionately reviewed Professor Wang Jinying's important contributions to higher education, especially to the development of marketing courses. He mentioned that as one of the earliest pioneers in marketing education in China, Professor Wang Jinying devoted a great deal of effort to promoting marketing; she launched the marketing course in 1984, helping CUFE establish a leading position in the marketing major and laying the foundation for the application of the business school's doctoral program. She has been deeply engaged in education, adhering to her post with a dedicated original aspiration for educating people, and this enthusiasm and responsibility are worthy of learning by all of us. She believes that in the new era, university teachers need to strengthen their professional identity, take teaching as the core and scientific research as the support, learn education-related theories and teacher ethics and regulations, and integrate the "trinity" (teaching, scientific research, and teacher ethics) into curriculum design.
Professor Gao Yongling, a colleague of Professor Wang Jinying, expressed three levels of admiration for her. The first level of admiration is for Professor Wang's hard work as a course pioneer in developing the marketing course from scratch and promoting its continuous growth. The second level is for her dedicated spirit of being "a ladder, a bridge, and a road for others". The third level is for her energetic state and good personal condition even after retirement, truly embodying the virtue of "learning to be a teacher and behaving as a model".
As a representative of young teachers, Assistant Professor Liu Zixu stated that under the guidance of senior teachers, she has gradually realized her responsibilities. She believes that in the current era, teachers should not only impart knowledge but also attach importance to the collision of ideas and souls with students.
This Teachers' Day learning activity came to an end in a warm and solemn atmosphere. The deeds of Professor Wang Jinying, who pioneered the discipline and dedicated herself to educating people, made the faculty and staff deeply feel the original aspiration and responsibility of the older generation of educators, and reached a consensus on inheriting the tradition and adhering to the essence of education. Vice Dean Gu Leilei said that although education in the AI era faces challenges, the care and warmth of teachers are irreplaceable. In the future, the faculty and staff of CUFE Business School will take Professor Wang Jinying as an example, take the "Four-Having" good teachers as the standard, integrate "morality education and talent cultivation" into teaching and scientific research, continue to strive for cultivating business talents and promoting the development of higher education, and make the torch of teachers shine in the new era.
